The Ogun State government has congratulated the People’s Republic of China on its 75th National Day. The felicitation was delivered by Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun during a celebration at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Governor Abiodun highlighted China’s remarkable journey from early challenges to becoming a global leader in technology, innovation, and economic power over the past seven and a half decades.
“The story of the nation remains an inspiring testament to the resilience, vision, and hard work of its people, alongside good leadership,” he said, noting that China’s influence extends globally.
Abiodun emphasized that the strong relationship between Nigeria and China is built on mutual respect and shared economic cooperation.
He pointed out that Ogun State has benefited significantly from this partnership through various industrial collaborations and developmental projects.
The Governor expressed appreciation to the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Nigeria, Ms. Yan Yuqing, for her efforts in maintaining strong diplomatic ties.
He reiterated Ogun State’s commitment to further strengthening its relationship with China, particularly in agriculture, manufacturing, and technology.
Ms. Yan Yuqing, in her remarks, reflected on China’s achievements over the past 75 years, noting its rise to the world’s second-largest economy and successful poverty eradication.
She expressed optimism that the continued friendship between China and Nigeria would bring greater economic benefits.
Also attending the event were representatives from the governments of Enugu, Kogi, Lagos, Cross River, and Gombe, who joined in extending their congratulations to China.
