Ogun Restates Commitment To Qualitative Governance

Ogun State Government has said that it will remain focus, towards achieving a qualitative governance that creates conducive environment for individuals’ prosperity and continued development of the State.

Governor Abiodun stated this in his address at the official opening of the first session of the forth Synod, with the theme, “Where are the prophets” at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church, Sango-Ota, affirming that God had been merciful to the State, owing to the existing peace and tranquility, despite the ethnic and religious differences.

Abiodun who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Governor emphasised the need for people to work together to develop the State and the country, so as to enable government provide the best in all sectors of the economy.

He said, “the ‘Building our Future Together’ agenda focuses on creation of jobs, provision of social and economic infrastructure, qualitative education, youths and agricultural development. All these are related and will create a conducive environment for people to realise their full potential in both circular and spiritual aspects”.

While speaking on the theme of the Synod, the Governor noted that roles of religion, as guiding light for any society that cherishes development could not be over-emphasised, adding that inspirational sermons, by prophets of God should be preached at all times.

Earlier in his message, the Diocesan Bishop of Awori, Rev. Akin Atere, encouraged the present administration to always respond to people’s plights, pleading for government’s intervention on the deplorable roads in Ota axis, considering its proximity to Lagos.

Meanwhile, Engr. Salako-Oyedele has stated that the deplorable condition of roads, particularly in Ota area being the business hub of the State, would be given necessary attention.

Engr. Salako-Oyedele who said this after attending the Jumat Service in Ota Central Mosque, explained that the Federal Government was yet to cede the construction of the Federal roads to State Government, despite the persistent request to take over its repairs, appealing to citizens to be patient, as government was making efforts to sort out the challenge soon.
