ABEOKUTA – A Non-Governmental Organisation, “Chosen Ambassadors Initiative’’ on Thursday 3rd October, 2019 donated some learning materials TO African Church Primary School at Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, in a bid to assist the less privileged pupils.

Tropic Reporters gathered that the materials included school bags, exercise books, white Board and writing materials to be used by the pupils and teachers of the school.

Presenting the items to the school, Convener of the Initiative, Miss. Benita Alex, said that the intention of the Initiative’s Educational outreach tagged “Promoting Education At Rural Level (Pearl 1.0) was to assist in the delivery of quality education to the less privileged.

Alex said that the initiative has been committed to providing adequate resources in the last few years in key sectors of human needs to put smile on the faces of the less privileged in the society.

“Our gesture for providing learning materials to all the pupils of the school is one step and many more will come.

“Our vision is to give hope to the less privileged in the society and the country at large.

“The initiative is still working on the project to better the lives of the less privileged as this is the pilot stage of the educational outreach,’’ she said.

She emphasized on the need to educate young people, saying that it would help secure their brighter future, not just for the children but for the society at large.

The Convener therefore urged parents to take charge of their wards’ education, rather than relying on the efforts of the government and NGOs, whose responsibilities are minimal and complementary.

According to her, the donation was made possible through personal efforts and assured the school’s administration of her organization’s readiness to provide more of such assistance if need demand.

Receiving the donation, the school’s Head Teacher, Mr. Ojo lauded the effort of the organization and promised that the items will be used judiciously and for the purpose intended.

The Head Teacher, however, called on the Ogun State government, Ministry of Education to provide adequate assistance for the smooch operation of the school most especially those in the remote villages.
