The Ogun State Manager, Park Management, Alhaji Akeem Bodunrin popularly known as Iyeru has assured commercial drivers in the state of a new ticket price that would be affordable.
Iyeru disclosed this on Tuesday at a press conference held in Abeokuta.
The State Manager of motor parks in the state said the Park Management would soon introduce a competitive and public-friendly new ticket price that will affordable by the commercial drivers.
He said, “We intend to run a competitive and public-friendly new ticket price regime that will not be too harsh on the pockets of commercial drivers and riders in view of the prevailing economic challenges in the nation.”
He equally advised both commercial drivers and passengers to always use their face mask and hand sanitizer.
He noted that, despite the ease on the interstate travel ban, the drivers should ensure regular use of face masks by their passengers.
He said, in line with the state government and NCDC’s guidelines on the Covid-19 pandemic, the Park Management would enforce strict compliance to directives among motorists in the state to flatten the spread of the pandemic.
Iyeru equally stressed that sanitary practices would be enforced at all motor parks across the State.
To compliment the efforts of the state’s Police Command in combating hooliganism at the motor parks, Iyeru vehemently expressed zero tolerance to thuggery saying, “Our administration shall have zero tolerance for thuggery, hooliganism and gangsterism across parks”.
He continued, “We shall enforce strict compliance to use of face masks by passengers and commercial drivers alike, just as necessary sanitary practices shall be enforced at the parks across the state.
“We shall also immediately commence the registration of all commercial buses and taxis in the state to curb crimes. We shall also ensure we lias with our Stakeholders and media towards interfacing and educating stakeholders at regular intervals”
He therefore lauded the efforts of the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for restoring peace at the motor parks which usually plummeted into crisis.
