Abeokuta, Ogun State – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ogun State Command, led by Commandant David Idowu Ojelabi, has received a delegation from the Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation (ADWAF), led by its President, Alhaji Asiwaju Dapo Wahab, at the State Command’s Office in Abeokuta.
The foundation, which focuses on supporting the less privileged, aims to partner with the NSCDC in promoting peace and conflict resolution in various communities across Ogun State and its environs.
The collaboration also seeks to enhance intelligence gathering, combat drug abuse, and build confidence among youths for a more peaceful society.
Commandant Ojelabi assured the foundation of the NSCDC’s support in creating a better and safer society, free from kidnapping, stealing, drug peddling, armed robbery, and other criminal activities.
He commended the foundation’s initiatives and expressed the Corps’ readiness to partner in bringing succour and better life to the people of Ogun State.
In his remarks, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab, President of ADWAF, sought the support of the NSCDC in the fight against drug usage, which he identified as a major threat to safety and peace in society.
He emphasized the need for collective efforts to address the menace and ensure a safer and more peaceful environment for all.
The partnership is expected to yield positive results in the areas of community peace, conflict resolution, and youth empowerment.
The NSCDC and ADWAF have pledged to work together to identify and address the root causes of insecurity and promote sustainable development in Ogun State.
The NSCDC Ogun State Command has reiterated its commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety and security of lives and properties in the state.
The Commandant urged the public to support the Corps in its efforts to maintain peace and order in Ogun State.
