… assures of his readiness to curb drug abuse
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ogun State Command has honoured and decorated the President of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab, as an Ambassador of War Against Drug Abuse (WADA).
Asiwaju Dapo Wahab was decorated by the Ogun State Commandant of the Anti – Narcotic Agency, Mrs. C.N Ibiba Odili, when the foundation paid a courtesy visit to the agency in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Speaking during the visit, the Commandant described the rising cases of drug abuse among teenagers as a time bomb that’s waiting to explode.
She also attributed the menace of misuse and abuse of drugs in the society to the style of parenting, and urged parents to do better in raising the children.
The Commandant however applauded the laudable contributions of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation towards the eradication of drug abuse in the society.
She further reassured the foundation of the agency’s readiness to foster and deepen the cordial working relationship between the two bodies to get rid of the state of drug abuse that could cause unrest, social vices and insecurities.
In his response, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab promised to continue to sensitize stakeholders in the community, education and other key sector of the society about the dangers of using and abusing drugs.
He maintained that the visit was to strengthen the partnership between the agency and the foundation in order to tackle drug abuse across the state.
He stressed that the war against drug abuse would be more effective through collaboration.
He further reassured the agency of his foundation’s readiness to put all hands on deck to curb the menace of drug abuse in the bud.
The agency also decorated Mrs. Elizabeth Eweje and Prince Wasiu Akanbi (Surprise Fuji Musician), as ambassadors respectively.
The visit was also joined by Mrs. Morenikeji Egbeyemi (PRO, ADWF Women Forum), Olanrewaju Mayowa Bolanle (Band Manager, Surprise Fuji Musician), Adejola Adeyemi Crown (Director of Media and Publicity, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation).
