A group of media professionals and entrepreneurs in Ogun State which is propagating moral and ethical principles has renewed its commitment to take the campaign to the next level.

This was revealed during a sensitization/awareness visit to the General Manager of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) 12, Mrs Funmi Wakama at her office in Ogbe, Abeokuta.

Leveraging on the high number of higher institutions in Ogun State, the group said it saw the need to reach the youths on whose shoulders the future of the nation lies, using subtle value reorientation method.

While decrying the level of moral decadence, crime and other vices, the leader of the team Mr. Dare Adedotun briefed the General Manager about the activities of the group aimed at channelling the minds of the young people to positive direction.

He however said the visit was to seek possible partnership from the Federal Government owned television station to achieve the set goals.

Mr. Adedotun noted that the project debuted in May 2019 with the approval of Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to reach out to Secondary Students who defined and internalized different meanings of integrity.

The next phase, Mr. Adedotun said would be by undergraduates across Ogun State who have been assigned different themes of integrity to speak on, in one minute each,  touching key aspects of the Nation and individual lives.

He let out that the packaged video would, among other activities, be premiered on Sunday 29th September, 2019 at the Auditorium of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, Ogun State with a lecture on “Patriotism and integrity: two sides to National Development” to be delivered by Professor Lenrie Olatokunbo Aina, Chief Executive Officer of the National Library of Nigeria.

In her response, the General Manager of NTA Abeokuta, Mrs. Funmi Wakama appreciated the Integrity Campaign team for embarking on such a remarkable and laudable project aimed promoting moral values, respect and dignity in all strata.

She further charged the team to consider the informal sector rather than full concentration on the elites.

She noted that the campaign could also be preached in languages understood by the grassroots, for better understanding and communication.

She thereafter promised the station’s partnerships towards the success of the event.
