Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo today joined the Speaker and members of fifth and sixth legislative sessions of the State House of Assembly to eulogize their late colleague, Hon. Isaac Solaja describing him as a resourceful politician and a very diligent lawmaker committed to the development of his Constituency and the State.
The lawmaker paid their last respect to Hon. Solaja today during a valedictory session in honour of the deceased at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
In his eulogy, Speaker Olakunle Oluomo noted that the late assemblyman was a very active representative of his people, an embodiment of wisdom to younger generation and his colleague-lawmakers and a very committed to the socio-economic advancement of the State.
Also speaking, a former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Titi Sodunke-Gomez, described the late lawmaker as a man of exemplary character, humble and diligent, disclosing that he was the Chairman of House Commitee on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions.
Others who spoke glowingly about the deceased were members of the 5th and 6th legislatures, who recalled his invaluable contributions to motions and debates leading to the passage of resolution and bills during the period.
They described him as an elderly colleague, who was very hardworking, accommodating, a freedom fighter and very cool headed.
The late Solaja who died last June, was one time a chemist, lawyer and very versatile legislator responsible for the passage of the motions for the adoption of Yoruba language during plenary on Wednesdays, also moved for the recitation of the State Anthem at public functions and return of schools to religious organisations.
