The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo has lauded the ingenuity of a member representing Abeokuta South II State Constituency, Ademuyiwa Adeyemi on the donation of a set of borehole to supply portable water to residents of Ijeun Titun Community in Abeokuta.
Oluomo, who gave the commendation while commissioning the facility in company of the Baale of Ijeun Titun, Alh. Soluade Atanda, community leaders and some residents of the area, pointed out that such self-sponsored projects financed from personal income was an exemplary gesture worthy of accolades from constituents.
Describing Adeyemi as a Legislator with proven track of record in the hallowed Chamber, the Speaker noted that all the lawmakers would continue to do intervention projects from their personal income to make life easier for their constituents.
He admonished the constituents to continue to give necessary support to the lawmaker to do more within the limit of resources for the benefit of the people, thereby complementing government’s efforts without waiting for constituency project fund.
Speaking on the rationale behind the donation of the project, Adeyemi stated that it was part of his legislative duty to provide succour in response to the yearnings of the people, thereby complementing Governor Dapo Abiodun’s efforts at making life more abundant for the people.
Acknowledging that the Governor had within a short time revamped the State Water Corporation towards providing portable water to residents of the State at large, hence the need to complement through the implementation of project in line with community demand, the lawmaker also promised that more developmental projects would be facilitated to his constituency.
