OGUN JOB PORTAL: APPLICANTS BACKLASH STATE GOVERNMENT OVER INABILITY TO ACCESS PORTAL

Date:

Reading time: 3 Minutes

Following the official Launching of Ogun State job portal an Initiative of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to provide jobs for citizens and residents of the State in an elaborate event held yesterday Thursday 15th August, 2019 at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State

Thousands of job applicants have made their dissatisfaction known on social media platforms over their inability to access the newly launched job portal by the state government.

Hon. Shotunde Lanre, one of the visitor to the job portal, confidently said he has lost hope in the current administration over their inability to set up a website successfully.

He said, “Thousands of people have reported the issue to me but I feel like trying it few minutes ago and it was same compared to the reported issues”

Another applicant said the decision of Ogun state government to launch a website is ridiculous.

“Launching a website? Very very ridiculous. Ordinary Website? What a laughing stock exercise. Anyway we should not forget to launch opening an e-mail account or a YouTube account.” he added.

Mustapha Musa Dapo in his opinion said the government deserves to be commended but he added it would have been better if the programme is about issuance of employment letters to the first 200 Ogun state indigene through the creation of job portal or something of that nature. However, he said the ceremony is too big for launching of a website.

Banji Ogunbiyi said: “Let us commend the effort no matter how minimal the impact. It has moved us from zero level. Employment of ten graduates during mere test run is not a joke. Let us see the government perform some miracle from the initiative. OGD did much with its like during his tenure. I wish DA luck.”

However, some data analysts have credited inability to access the website to the traffic on the site, saying when so many people are accessing a website, it becomes hard to access the website once at a time.

Our correspondent on his part also tried to access the website: www.jobs.ogunstate.gov.ng but couldn’t gain access few hours after it was officially launched till the time of filing this report.
