OGUN: HON. MUJOTA SUPPORTS PREGNANT WOMEN, PAY-OFF TRADERS DEBT, EMPOWER ARTISANS, TO MARK 100 DAYS IN OFFICE

Ogun State House of Assembly member representing Abeokuta North State constituency and former Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Honourable Modupe Onikepo Mujota has rolled out a series of unique and quite unprecedented empowerment and support programme to mark her first 100 days in office.

The programme, which is in three parts and focused on three different categories of beneficiaries within Abeokuta North State Constituency, commenced on a very good note on Monday 16th, September, 2019, with the distribution of ante natal materials to expectant mothers. The distribution exercise tagged, “Welcome Pack” for expectant mother, was earmarked for four primary health care centres – one each in Abeokuta North LGA , Abeokuta North East LCDA, Abeokuta North West LCDA and Oke Ogun LCDA- kicked off at Iberekodo Primary health care centre in iberekodo Market, Abeokuta, with Honourable Mujota on hand to personally hand over the items to beneficiaries.

The train later moved to Sabo health centre, in Sabo area of Abeokuta, where honorable Mujota was warmly welcomed and appreciated for her thoughtfulness. The last port of call for the day was the health centre in Adeun, at rounda area, Oke Ogun LCDA where Hon. Mujota and her crew was received and embraced for her uncommon mien and effort as a representative of repute.

The distribution of “Welcome Pack” to pregnant women in Abeokuta North through various health care centres was concluded today Wednesday 18th September, 2019, with a visit to Owu Health Centre where Hon Mujota presented same to beneficiaries.

Items distributed during the event include baby packs – which comprises of baby lotion, soap, sponge, jelly, powder and baby wipes- as well as diapers, toilet rolls, sanitary pads among others.

The event which was concluded today featured the pay-off of debts incurred by market women and traders who are struggling in their business due to high repayment interest from microfinance banks and other financial institutions popularly known as LAPO or KOMULELANTA and the empowerment of male artisans who are in dire need of start-up capital.

While appreciating the good gestures of Hon. Mujota, the chairman of Ajangbadi Community Development Association, Alhaji Ismail Adumbu, commended her effort in restoring electricity back to their community after a long period of darkness.

Hon. Sikirat Ajibola, the member representing Ipokia Local Government State constituency, who was present to support her colleague and fellow woman legislator, in her goodwill message, congratulated Hon. Mujota for being a good representative for her constituents and advised the constituents to always call the attention of their daughter to whatever they deem necessary at any time as a good listener who will never neglect her people.

Speaking shortly after the programme today, Honourable Mujota who was accompanied by community women leaders and well wishers on “the mission to give back” to her constituency said, The main thrust of her office as a representative is to use her position to improve the lives and prosperity of her people stressing the fact that she will stop at nothing to make her impact felt by all and sundry, God willing.

Notable leaders at the event include Alhaji Mufasiu Amosun, Major Dede Adejimi, Agbaakin Taofeek Olabode, Hon. Monsuru Sorunke, Hon. Taoreed Salami, Alhaji Ayo Ogunsolu among others.
