OGUN GUBER ELECTION: LABOUR PARTY FINALLY LODGES SUIT AT SUPREME COURT

The Ogun state Labour Party and governorship candidate, Ms Modupeola Sanyaolu has successful transmit and filed their records before the Supreme Court, Abuja on Friday (today). 

In an appeal no’s marked CA/IB /EPT/OG/GOV/07/2019 and Supreme Court appeal number SC1088/2019, the party is asking the apex court to invalidate the election of Dapo Abiodun held on March 9th, 2019.

The party had approached the Supreme Court when Court of Appeal Ibadan, penultimate week strike out the second Labour Party’s Appeal against the  judgment of the ogun state Governorship election Petition Tribunal delivered on the 13th of June 2019. 

The Labour Party had brought an application in Appeal No CA/IB/EPT/OG/GOV/01/2019 and appealed against the decision of the five-man panel of justice delivered on Friday, 16th day of August, 2019.

Justice Halilu Yussuf led Ogun election petition tribunal on the 13th of July, 2019 deliberately refused the party’s application for relisting its petition on the ground that they lack jurisdiction and they have become functus-officio to hear the application, thereby dismissing the application for relisting. 

Immediately the appeal against decisions to relist was dismissed by the Court of Appeal, the appellants immediately lodged an appeal by filing a notice of appeal before the Supreme court against decision of the Court of Appeal , the records of which was finally transmitted and filled  at the Supreme Court today.

With this events as happened now, there seems no end in sight between Comrade Arabambi led Litigation against the Election Of Prince DAPO Abiodun
