Governor Dapo Abiodun has condoled with the victim of recent fire incident which occurred at Olujimi Emmanuel Electronic and Electrical store in the Totoro Area of Abeokuta, Ogun state.
Representated by his Deputy, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the governor sympathised with proprietor of the Affected business premises saying he felt his plight considering the Millions of Naira invested in the business.
Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele who was accompanied by the Chief of Staff to the Ogun State Government, Alhaji Shuib Afolabi Salisu , commissioners and the Abeokuta South and North Local Gvernment Chairmen, informed that an integrity test will be conducted on the Affected property to ascertain the level of damage and next cause of action.
‘ Officials of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development will be here to inspect the building and check the structure for its actual integrity, because the most important thing is the safety of the people around here and passer-by. Once this is done government will take necessary action to protect the property and residents’ . She said.
She advised members of the public to avoid storage of hazardous objects close to residential areas, noting that if not for the prompt response of the fire service, the fire might have spread to neighbouring houses.
While thanking men of the Ogun State Fire Service for rising to the call in Time to control the spread of the fire, she pleaded with the residents to steer clear of the area in order to avoid any further casualty until the outcome of the integrity test is determined by the necessary Agency of Government
Responding, Mr Emmanuel Oluseyi Olujimi appreciated the Governor for the gesture and prayed that God will avert a reoccurrence of such sad incidence in the state.
