The wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, has commended the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly and a member representing Ijebu North II State Constituency, Hon. Oludare Kadiri for facilitating some empowerment items including 100 sewing machines and 50 set of hair dryers, scholarships as well as car and cash gifts for the benefit of his constituents.

Mrs. Abiodun, represented by a Commissioner designate, Mrs. Funmi Efuwape, who spoke during the hand over of the empowerment items to beneficiaries in Ago- Iwoye also thanked the people for their continued support to the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, promising that government would continue to ensure that the needs of the people are taken care of.

She enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the items, noting that the materials and other skill acquisition programmes put in place by the Deputy Speaker were part of measures at spreading democratic gains to the grassroot to further complement the present administration’s effort at ensuring self sustainability and empowerment for women.

Earlier in his remarks, Hon. Kadiri assured that more of such and other people oriented progammnes and projects would be delivered to the people, saying that the items were facilitated through the partnership with the Federal Government through the Nigerian Ports Authority and a non-governmental organisation with support from the State Government for the benefit of his constituents, particularly women, with a view to enable them achieving self sustainability.

Hon. Kadiri, who also commissioned a toilet facility with a bore hole at Ago-Iwoye Motor Park in Ijebu North Local Government Area, promised that Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration would lift the bar of performance in the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.

Explaining the rationale behind the programme, the Deputy Speaker tasked the beneficiaries to see the programme as an opportunity to develop their potentials, as the items and other vocational training programmes being facilitated were meant to equip the women with necessary skills that would enable them earn a decent living.

Commending President Mohammadu Buhari through the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority for the empowerment materials, Kadiri admonished the beneficiaries to ensure good maintenance culture for the items.

He assured that more developmental projects including major roads that cut across the constituency were being captured in the 2020 budget recently passed by the State House of Assembly, with an assurance of quality representation at the State House of Assembly.

Responding, the beneficiaries including Odunsi Folasade, Modinat Badmos and Abosede Sipe appreciated the Deputy Speaker for the support, promising to ensure effective maintenence of the equipment received at the programme.

The programme had in attendance lawmakers including Honourables Ademuyiwa Adeyemi, Sylvester Abiodun, Abayomi Fasuwa, Akeem Balogun and Kunle Sobukanla, representatives of Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Alaporu of Ilaporu and Alaperu of Iperu respectively as well as party stalwarts.
