Following a gas explosion in Abeokuta’s Ita-Oshin area, Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the affected individuals.

The incident, reportedly caused by a gas truck accident bearing the label Gasco Marine Bar 250, occurred around 5pm at Ita Oshin junction near the roundabout.

The truck, en route to Abeokuta, veered off course and collided with the road pavement before coming to a halt.

Tragically, the driver fled the scene, while the truck assistant lost his life, with his remains now at the General Hospital, Ijaiye.

The ensuing blaze engulfed four parked vehicles and five shops, leaving significant damage in its wake.

Both federal and Ogun State Fire Services mobilized four trucks to extinguish the flames.
