The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun today received the speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila in his Oke Mosan Office in Abeokuta

According to the release made available on his official Facebook page, governor Abiodun said, “I received in my office, the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who was on a courtesy visit to Ogun State.”

“I appreciated the Hon. Speaker for his dynamic contributions which are not unconnected to the wealth of experience he gathered as the Majority Leader in the 8th Assembly. Mr Speaker’s laudable performance shows him as not representing only the Surulere Constituency of Lagos State but also the entire Southwest and our great party, the APC.’

“I seized the opportunity of the august visit to emphasise the importance of infrastructure, especially the Lagos-Sango-Abeokuta Road, a Federal Road linking with Agbara, one of our State’s industrial hubs. So its importance cannot be overemphasised, when we talk of GDP and international trade, and this is why we are keen on its reconstruction.’

“As a State Government, we are already reconstructing the Ijebu Ode-Epe Road, another Federal Road which on completion, will serve as a preferred alternative route easing the pressure on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.”

“This is even as we have set up the Lagos-Ogun Joint Development Commission, a synergy to address the deficit in industry and housing, considering the regular commuting between both States.”

“I moved on to detail our effective efforts towards containing the COVID-19 pandemic, including: 4 isolation centres, our Molecular Lab at the OOUTH, and mobile testing booths.”

“Knowing the Hon. Speaker as a lover of education, I revealed to him that ours was the first State to organise e-classes in the wake of the pandemic. And not stopping there, we are now working on installing related medical facilities in our public schools, and training our teachers to strictly follow medical advisories when schools reopen, he added.

“Rt. Hon. Gbajabiamila’s visit reassures me and indeed the Ogun State Government and People that we will be provided more support by the Green Chamber, he concluded.
