Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, has reiterated her commitment towards an all-round development of children in the State.

Mrs. Abiodun stated this at an event which recognised 45 Outstanding Pupils in Ogun State, to mark year 2021 Children’s Day, organized by the Integrity Campaign Club, a Non Governmental Organization.

Held at the cultural center, Kuto, Abeokuta with an array of activities including Spelling Bee, Quiz and Public Speaking competition, Creativity Display and SDG video, the governor’s wife, received the 45 outstanding pupils drawn from the four zones in Ogun state, adding that the Nation would benefit immensely if parents instill sound morals in their wards.

Abiodun, who condemned violence against children, said inhumane and barbaric tradition negatively affecting children would no longer be tolerated.

The event was chaired by the Vice Chancellor Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof Felix Kolawole Salako represented by the Dean of Student Affairs.

The NSCDC commandant in the State, Hameed Abodunrin among others, said taking care of children amounted to taking care of the future of the society and the human race.

High point of the event was the presentation of landed property to two Grand Prize winners; Adetayo Isuraoluwa of Golden Gait Model College, Ijebu Ode LG and Momoh Samuel of Adeoye Int’l School, Ado Odo Ota.

The children appreciated the opportunity given to them, promising to be good ambassadors of the state.

Integrity Campaign Club has firmly believed in inculcating the habit of reading in children from a young age and thus organizes various educative programmes for children across Ogun State.

President and Founder of the club, Dare Adedotun says despite the current economic and funding challenges facing our country as a whole, the club will keep doing all within its powers to achieve better living conditions and greater access to quality healthcare and education for all our children.

According to the Adedotun, the task of training up a child should not be left for parents alone because when a child becomes irresponsible, the child will become a problem not just for the parents but for the society at large.
