…highlights the essence of showing love during yuletide
The wife of the Ogun state Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun this midweek commissioned the ultra-modern Father Xmas grotto of the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation with a call on parents and guardians to extend hands of love to their children this yuletide.
Mrs Bamidele observed that children as future leaders should be given opportunities to enjoy themselves as all work without play makes Jack a dull boy, saying that the OGBC Father Xmas Grotto and the playground with the state-of-the-art facilities donated by the Ogun State Genaration 11 will make children joyous during this festive period and beyond.
Represented by the wife of the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Mrs Victoria Oluomo, the Governor’s Spouse lauded members of the OGSG11for providing ambience for children this yuletide and beyond adding that the gesture was worthy of emulation.
In a welcome address, the OGBC General Manager, Mr Diji Akinhanmi said the Father Xmas show is part of OGBC Corporate Social Responsibilities to its publics including the children, lauding Ogun State Generation 11 for partnering the station.
On his part, the representative of the Ogun State Generation 11, Architect Tolu Martins informed that members who were children of the first set of Ogun state Civil Servants and grew up in Ibara Housing Estate had mission to give back to the environment where they were raised, adding that the partnership with OGBC is a laudable exercise.
In their submissions, the Chief Judge of Ogun state, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu who was represented by Mrs Yomi Sofowora gave thumbs up to the nation’s model station for deeming it fit to make the future generation happy with a colourful environment just as Mrs Victoria Olubisi-George of Victors Nursery and Primary School who spoke on behalf of proprietors of schools of the 494 kids that attended the opening ceremony said OGBC has definitely written her name in gold as the memories of the show will continue linger on in the minds of participants.
Giving thanks to God for the success so far achieved ,the Chairman,Mrs Doyin Lasisi-Oloruntola said OGBC is moving with the trend with the provision of first class facilities to make the show worthwhile for children in the spirit of the season just as she gave thumbs up to OGSG11 and others for making the event memorable.
Highlights of the opening ceremony were presentation of gifts to pupils of different school s, dancing and quiz competition as well as cutting of the OGBC xmas cake.#
