Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria, FIBAN, Ogun State Chapter, has suspended its outgoing National President, Comrade Desmond Nwanchukwu, his 2nd Vice President, Mrs Helen Njoku and Kikelomo Ogunsina due to anti – chapter activities, impersonation and insubordination to the authority of the state chapter.
This notice of indefinite suspension and vote of no confidence was contained in a statement signed by Ogun FIBAN Chairman, Comrade Olufemi Omilani, a copy obtained by Tropic Reporters correspondent in Abeokuta this Friday.
The statement reads in parts, “this is to inform all members of FIBAN in Nigeria that the following members have been suspended indefinitely from OGUN FIBAN chapter due to their anti-chapter activities, inpersonation and insurbornation to the authority of the state:
1. Com. Desmond Nwachukwu
2. Mrs Helen Njoku
3. Kikelomo Ogunsina
“Our chapter (OGUN FIBAN) had earlier made its intention known that we are not participating in the kangaroo congress and election scheduled to hold in Ekiti State between Thursdsy 12th and Friday 13th January, 2023”.
“But these three still went to Ekiti State, claiming to represent Ogun FIBAN in a congress and election, which Ogun FIBAN chapter is not participating”.
“However, the Executive Council as well as leaders of FIBAN in Ogun State have unnanimously agreed to put them on suspension until further notice”.
“We are equally passing a vote of no confidence in the outgoing president, Comrade Desmond Nwachukwu and his 2nd Vice President, Mrs Helen Njoku whose tenure will expire in few days time for poor representation of our chapter at the national level of our association”, he said.
