The Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Dare Kadiri has charged sons and daughters of Ago-Iwoye to unite, love one another and support the government in power, for socio-economic development.
The number two lawmaker let this out while addressing members of the Reliable club of Ago-Iwoye at their monthly meeting held at the villa of the Patron, Sir Prince (Dr.) Feyisayo Soyewo MFR in Ago Iwoye.
Speaking on the topic: “Ago-Iwoye yesterday, today and tomorrow”, Hon. Kadiri asked the indigenes to unite, speak with one voice, restore value and coexistence which the town was known for as well as take advantage of closeness of the state-owned University to mega cities, to drive technology, good road-network and industries.
“For Ago-Iwoye to come alive again, we have to rearrange our political structure, supportive of political office holders, friendly to the government and love one another,” Hon. Kadiri added.
He extolled and saluted the composition of members of the Reliable Club, describing them as major stakeholders with vast wealth of experience.
In his welcome address, the Patron of the Club, Prince (Dr.) Feyisayo Soyewo MFR appreciated the Deputy Speaker for the visit, emphasizing that invited guests were people of proven character and integrity. He added that Hon. Kadiri’s indelible role at the State House of Assembly has further lent credence to the fact that indigenes of the town are change-makers.
While praying for a successful tenure in office, Prince Soyewo called on the legislator to use his position as the second in command in the State Assembly to drive growth into the town.
On his part, the President of the Club, Prince Bola Omelaja in an interview revealed that the 41-year old club sees the need to give back to the society by offering scholarships, entrepreneurship training, free medical service in collaboration with reputable health institutions and encouraging young people to join them.
At the event, Hon. Kadiri was accepted into the fold of the club.
