Ogun Deputy Governor, Salako-Oyedele Pays Tribute to Late INEC REC, Barr. Ijalaye

Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has described the sudden death of the late Ogun State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Barr. Olaniyi Ijalaye, as saddening and rude a shock.

Engr. Salako-Oyedele, who made this known during a condolence visit to the State INEC headquarters at Magbon, Abeokuta, informed that late Barr. Ijalaye was a gentleman of integrity and committed to serving the country, stressing that every individual would be remembered for their legacy in life.

Appreciating him for serving the state, particularly the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, she added that his untimely death was a big loss, not just to his immediate family, but to the state and INEC at large, praying that God should grant his soul sweet repose, as well as comforts the loved ones he left behind.

Head of Finance and Account of Ogun INEC, Alhaja Rabiat Akinola, appreciated the Deputy Governor for commiserating with the deceased’s family and staff as death was inevitable, calling for prayers for the late REC’s family, as well as more support from the state government, to enable the agency effectively discharge its duties.
