As a way to avert looming crises that may arise over chieftaincy title in Bode Olude Emere Community in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The Bode Olude community on Saturday held an interdenominational prayer session to avert any looming crisis and to peaceful resolve the Baaleship tussle between Chief Lateef Kolawole Sanyaolu and Chief Jimoh Olanrewaju Taiwo.
The Bode Olude Emere community also called for urgent intervention of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo to wade into the issue to avert any crises that may threaten peace and harmony the community and Ogun State have been enjoying.
The community during the interdenominational prayer session also called on Ogun State Government and Egba Traditional Council to ensure the installation of Baale recognized by Emere Council of Chiefs, as against who is parading himself as Baale to claim the throne.
Recall that Emere council of Chiefs recently held a press conference calling on Gov Abiodun and Alake of Egbaland to wade into the issue so as to avoid future crisis that may crop – up in the community, noting that if nothing was done quickly by relevant authorities to peacefully stop the perceived imminent chaos may lead to unwanted bloodbath.
The Aro of Emere, Chief Monsuru Bankole at the press conference claimed that the peace -threatening tussle between Chief Lateef Sanyaolu and Chief Jimoh Taiwo over who is the legitimate Baale of Bode -Olude Emere started when one Chief Semiu Akinbile allegedly pronounced himself as Oluwo of Emere Council of Chiefs; the consenting authority to Bode – Olude throne and proceeded to make Chief Jimoh Taiwo as the Baale.
