Residents of Igbesa in Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State have been urged to remain calm as the State House of Assembly would intervene in addressing the issues raised on the administration of land belonging to the community by the Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC) since 1978.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, gave the admonition while reviewing residents of the community led by a community leader, Alhaji Tajudeen Aka, who came to submit petition to the Assembly against OPIC on allegations of giving out their land to Agbara community.
Oluomo thanked the people for the peaceful approach they followed in pursing their course; promising that all parties involved would be invited to reach an amicable resolution of the issue.
He said that the House of Assembly in its quasi-judicial function would ensure that all the issues raised were addressed.
The Speaker enjoined them to remain calm as the current administration was committed to the promotion of peace and tranquility in all parts of the State.
Earlier, the Community Leader, Alhaji Aka, requested the intervention of the State House of Assembly in checkmating the manner in which OPIC released the land acquired from Igbesa community to Agbara community.
