Ogun Assembly Tasks Abiodun’s Commissioner-Nominees On Collaboration For Improved Service Delivery

Ogun State House of Assembly today screened the two Commissioner-nominees- Mrs. Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan and Jamiu Odetoogun, whose names were recently forwarded to the State House of Assembly by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, with a charge on them to work relentlessly towards ensuring improved service delivery to the people of the State.

The Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, in company of other lawmakers threw the challenge while presiding over the screening of the two nominees at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Oluomo counseled them to also work in synergy with the Assembly, other Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government to ensure the over success of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration in the State if confirmed and eventually sworn in by the Governor Abiodun.

According to him, the task ahead required the collaboration of all stakeholders in the polity to work together for the betterment of the people in line with the mandate given by the people so as to consolidate on the existing gains of the ISEYA Mantra of the present administration.

Mrs. Ilori-Oduntan, an American trained Nurse and realtor, was until her nomination, Commissioner 3 in the State Universal Basic Education Board ( SUBEB); while Mr. Odetoogun, an HND holder in Urban and Regional Planning and was until his nomination, a Deputy General Manager and Board Member of Signage and Advertising Agency.

Meanwhile, the House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption, led by Hon. Musefiu Lamidi today considered the 2020 audit report of the Ministry of Environment, with a commendation to its Management for ensuring improved revenue generation in 2020 in spite of the economic down turn during the period occasioned by the corona virus pandemic that characterised the year.

The Committee Chairman however cautioned them to always ensure compliance with the rules and regulations guiding the operation of the ministry in all their activities.
