In recognition of the supreme sacrifice paid to by the nation’s fallen heroes, the Ogun State House of Assembly has assured the Nigerian Legion that it would continue to give necessary support to enhance their welfare and other benefits by the State government.

The Speaker, of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo gave the assurance, when the members of the Nigerian Legion, Ijebu North Local Government Chapter confered on his Deputy, Oludare Kadiri the Patron of the Legioners at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

He lauded the invaluable contributions the ex service men paid in restoring peace and stability in the nation, stating that they deserved to be honoured at all times.

The Speaker explained that the Nigerian society must be ready to reciprocate the dedication and commitment to service exhibited by the ex servicemen, adding that it was only through such celebrations that they could be honoured having willingly sacrificed their lives for the unity of the nation .

In his remarks, Chairman, Nigeria Legion, Ijebu North Council Area, Comrade Liasu Tajudeen, extolled the virtues of the Deputy Speaker, who was as a former military man, describing him as a listening and leader whom had been contributing to the promotion of peace of his constituency.

In his acceptance speech, Kadiri lauded the recognition of the Legioners ,promising them of support at ensuring peace and tranquility in the State and nation at large.
