The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, has lamented the reoccurring cases of social vices and crimes including rape, kidnapping, ritual killing and cybercrime in the State, tasking movie producers to review the content of their production to continually instill morals and peaceful co-existence.

The Speaker made the call while responding to the presentation of the lawmaker representing Sagamu 1 State constituency, Hon. Abdul Bashir Oladunjoye, who presented the request of the theatre practitioners in the State to the Assembly under personal explanation during the plenary at the Assembly Complex, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta.

Oluomo equally challenged members of the public to remain vigilant and be watchful of suspicious persons and activities within their neighbourhood, with a view to giving timely and accurate information on crimes and crimnality to the law enforcement agents to help protect lives and property.

In another development, the State House of Assembly has directed the leadership of the Mahadiyat Congregation Worldwide to immediately construct a fence demarcating its memorial Primary school from the housing facility of one Mrs. Falilat Adenuga-Isiaka which encroaches on the 1.269 Hectares of land belonging to the congregation.

The Assembly’s directive was consequent upon the passage of a resolution through a motion moved by the Majority Leader, seconded by the Yusuf Amosun, shortly after the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions by its Chairman, Solomon Osho.

The Committee Chairman thereafter moved the motion for its adoption, seconded by Hon. Damilola Soneye and supported by other lawmakers at a plenary presided over by Speaker Olakunle Oluomo at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Assembly equally instructed the petitioners including Mrs. Adenuga to stop further harassment on the petitionees (Mahadiyat Congregation Worldwide) as documentary evidence before the committee affirmed that the issue of land encroachment raised against the islamic congregation lacked in merit and had no iota of truth.

The Committee according to its findings affirmed that documentary evidence revealed that the Islamic congregation genuinely purchased a large expanse of land measuring 1.279 hectares situated at Onirugba, Ijebu-Ode from the Adebambo Ajia Family.
