Ogun Assembly Commends Immigration Service on Passport Reforms

The Ogun State House of Assembly has praised the State Command of Immigration Service for its recent reforms in the issuance of Nigerian passports, resulting in a seamless and speedy process for applicants.

Speaker Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide commended the Immigration Service during a visit by officials led by Comptroller Grace Olaitan Adeoye to the Assembly Complex in Abeokuta. He acknowledged the improvements in passport issuance and other services, as well as the Service’s role in promoting peace and security in the state, particularly along border areas.

The Speaker promised continued collaboration between the Assembly and the Immigration Service to enhance its operations in the state. Other lawmakers, including Honourables Wahab Haruna, Fola Salami, and Majority Leader Yusuf Sheriff, also commended the Immigration Service’s achievements and urged more proactive measures to curb illegal activities by aliens in border areas.

Comptroller Adeoye sought collaboration between the state government and the Command to support their efforts. She highlighted recent successes, including the repatriation of 22 Beninese nationals who were causing disturbances in local government areas, demonstrating the Command’s commitment to addressing illegal immigration.
