The Public Service Transformation Office under the Office of the Ogun State Head of Service has been challenged to ensure that the existing system and machineries are delivering quality service to the people, while involving strategies towards ensuring effective transformation of the public service.
The State House of Assembly, through its Committee on Establishments and Public Service Matters led by Hon Modupe Mujota, threw the challenge, while appraising the 2019 budget performance of the agencies under the Office of the State Head of Service at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Hon. Mujota enjoined the Public Service Transformation Office to put in place strategies that would be properly articulated to ensure effective management of human and material resources that would lead to seamless handover to future generations of public servants in the State.
She also called on the Public Transformation Office to make its impact felt in government Ministries, Departments and Agencies for optimum performance.
On the overall assessment of the agencies appraised by the House Committee, Hon. Mujota commended the agencies for their resilience and commitment to achieving results, saying that they had performed within the limit of available resources.
She urged them to maintain the cordial relationship with the other arms of government for the overall socio-economic development of the State.
On his part, Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju sought for the replication of the transformation policies and initiatives meant to promote quality service delivery in the rural areas.
Responding, the Permanent Secretary in charge of the Public Service Transformation Office, Mr. Jola Oyeleye, stated that no fewer 45 change agents had been trained and already impacting on different agencies of government.
He added that positive effects of the office were already manifesting in the quality of service being rendered by the State Hospital at Ijaye and Oba Ademola Maternity Centre, Ake, Abeokuta.
