Ogun: Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation Seeks DSS Cooperation To End Insecurity

A non-profit organization, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation has sought the cooperation of security agencies to curb the menace of insecurity across the state.

The President of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation made this request known during a familiarization visit to the State Director of Department of State Service (DSS), Femi Aaron, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

According to him, the security challenges bedevilling the state require closing the gap between the security agencies and community dwellers.

He said, “As a nonprofit organization, we are determined to work with relevant security agencies to curb the menace of insecurity across the state”.

“We realize that most of to the deteriorating level of insecurity emanates from the societies and local approach should be deployed to nib it in the bud to ensure stability and peace across the state”.

“Let me however laud the State Director of DSS for this visit and we however look forward to a more rewarding partnership for a formidable society”, he stressed.

On his part, the State Director of DSS, Femi Aaron, commended Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation for rising up to address the increasing level of insecurity in the state, most especially kidnapping, drug abuse, among other social vices.

He said while government was trying to deploy its best intelligence gathering to address the menace, called on society dwellers to give relevant information to the security agencies.

He encouraged the public to give useful information to the security agencies especially when there were unusual occurrences.

He however reiterated that the already established partnership with Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation would go a long way in solving immediate community problems.

“I am delighted to welcome the President of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab and his entourage to the state Department of State Service (DSS)”.

“I must commend the laudable contributions of the foundation towards ensuring stability, peace and security at the grassroot level”.

“It is worrisome that most of our youths now indulge in drug abuse which has contributed immensely to the deteriorating level of insecurity across the state”.

“We need to intensify efforts to sensitize the youths on the negative effects of misuse and abuse of drugs to curb social vices”.

“As an agency, we are ready to forge partnership with Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation to ensure that security of lives and properties are maintained at the grassroot levels”, he added.

The visit was also joined by Mrs. Elizabeth Eweje (ADWF Coordinator, Women Wing),
Mrs. Morenikeji Egbeyemi (PRO, ADWF Women Forum), Adejola Adeyemi Crown (Director of Media and Publicity, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation). and Mr. Tosin Edun (Alternate Director, Innovation and Strategic Partnership).
