The Ogun State government has approved the payment of year 2020 Tertiary Education Trust Fund counterpart allocation to tertiary institutions in the State, for improved infrastructure development.
Tropic reporter reports that, the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has also approved the resuscitation and relocation of Ogun State Braille Book Production Centre and the provision of lunch and complementary meals, for pupils in the State Special Schools for 2020/2021 academic session, so as to engender smooth running of academic calendar, for better performance.
Tropic reporter further reports that, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, revealed these during a chat with newsmen in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Prof. Arigbabu said the approval would aid teaching and learning activities, adding that the present administration has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the importance of education would never be undermined, hence, its giant strides in the sector which cuts across primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
“Education has experienced tremendous improvements and will continue to do so during the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun. He has given us the mandate to restore education in the State to its former glory”, the Commissioner said.
He further disclosed that the Governor has also given approvals for the monthly subversion to State owned tertiary institutions and the payment of bursary, to all indigene students across the country, which would take effect as soon as possible.
