The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo has called on the residents of the State to as part of their civic responsibilities, offer useful but credible information to security agents to further boost their operations and rid the State of criminal elements.
Oluomo made the call while responding to submissions of Hon. Sola Adams representing Ijebu-East State Constituency and his Waterside State Constituency, Akeem Balogun, who reported the high spate of kidnapping in their respective constituencies under Personal Explanation, during the Assembly’s plenary presided over by Speaker Olakunle Oluomo.
He also tasked security formations in the State to step up plans in tackling crimes and criminality in all parts of the State, while acknowledging their efforts at securing lives and property in the State.
The Speaker, while commending the Dapo Abiodun led-administration in the State for its support to security agencies in the State through the procurement of 100 operational vehicles and 200 motorcycles with necessary security gadgets currently being fixed in them, assured that the Assembly would liaise with the Executive Arm in the State to leverage on the State Security Trust Fund for logistic supports to security agencies in the State.
Earlier, two bills including : Ogun State Sports Commission Law, 2019 and Ogun State Sports Trust Fund Law, 2019 scaled first reading on the floor of the State House of Assembly having being read for the first time by the Ag. Clerk, Deji Adeyemo.
