Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has emphasized Nigeria’s immense potential, reiterating that the country is well-positioned to become a global leader. Obasanjo made this statement during his visit to the ongoing Ecobank Design and Build Expo at the Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC) in Lagos on Wednesday.
Speaking at the event, Obasanjo commended Ecobank for organizing the expo, which shines a spotlight on the architecture, building, construction, and design sectors. The former president took the opportunity to explore various pavilions showcasing cutting-edge innovations, trends, and sustainable practices in architecture, building materials, engineering, household appliances, and interior design.
“I am impressed by the quality of work on display here today,” Obasanjo remarked, expressing his admiration for the high standard of the exhibitors’ contributions.
The former president also called on leaders at all levels to utilize Nigeria’s abundant resources, driving the nation’s economy to greater heights. “Nigeria’s vast resources must be harnessed to achieve economic transformation and global leadership,” he said.
The five-day expo, themed “Building Nigeria Together,” commenced on November 27 and will run until December 1. Over 60 exhibitors, including renowned global brands like SABA Steel, Coleman Wire & Cables, Donna Spectre, Dulux Paints, HTL Africa, ITB Nigeria Ltd, and Mota Engil Nigeria, are showcasing their latest innovations and products.
