…as Commander Filling station opened 

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has lauded the efforts of investors in the downstream oil and gas sector in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, declaring that such was helping in developing the economy of the state.

He spoke at the opening of a new Filling Station, Commnader Petroluem, along the Madojutimi/Oke Ibukun road, Off Abiola Way, Abeokuta, on Wednesday.

The former President, who was represented by Chief Abraham Idowu Akanle said that, “with the commitment of such investors, the economy of Abeokuta will continue to witness growth and reduce unemployment.

“My brother ought to have been here personally, but, for other pressing engagements. Nonetheless, he said he is pleased with the involvement of serious, focused investors in the downstream petroleum business.”

Akanle further quoted Obasanjo as having said, “among such commited investors is Oyebola. He is a focused investor who he is pleased to be identified with. His contribution with others in the industry will make tremendous growth.

“There is no doubt that this new station will provide employment and improve on the economy of this area. I can vouch for your (Oyebola) integrity and industry, so I am sure that this new station will be a step towards having a mega filling station in no distance future.”

Akanle added that the presence of the members of various transport unions at the ceremony, “attested to what my Brother said I should say. If you are not responsible, the large turnout of our commercial drivers here will be missing today. The former President is proud of you and happy to identify with you on this landmark achievement today,” Akanle said.

The Chairman of Commander Petroleum, Chief Olubode Oyebola expressed gratitude to God and the former President for the success he had so far recorded in the Petroluem industry.

Also, Oyebola’s associate Arch. Kolawole Ogundipe says, “the hurdles faced during the construction of the station was cleared through the intervention of our Baba (Obasanjo). He was there for us all the way to the end. We shall remain grateful to him,” Ogundipe said.

The Chief of Staff of Obasanjo Holdings, Deacon Victor Durodola gave special prayers to dedicate the filling station, while Akanle made the first purchase having cut the tape to declare the filling opened.
