THE FORMER PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA, CHIEF OLUSEGUN OBASANJO WILL ON FRIDAY 25TH October, 2019 LEAD OTHER important personalities TO THE 3RD edition of Children Reading Competition Programme AN EVENT SCHEDULED TO HOLD IN ABEOKUTA THE OGUN STATE CAPITAL.

The Creator and Chairman Planning Committee for the reading competition, Mr.Biodun Lasile while speaking with journalists stated that the 3rd Children Reading Competition Programme of Sixth Sense Series Publications, publishers of school children books; Banana Peels, Sammy the Barber, Sarat Derat, Animals and Birds in English and The Sisters is meant for school children from the ages of 5 to 15 years as they will gather at the Main Auditorium of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State from 8am to 5pm.

Lasile added that the reading competition is in partnership with Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Abeokuta and in conjunction with United Nations Information Centre, Lagos.

Lasile said, “The free entry Reading Competition with the theme” Reading Culture: A Tool for Successful learning and self actualization within a new Generation” will be declared open by the former President of Nigeria, Chief (Dr.) Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR with over 100 Schools and 1500 pupils participating in lecture, demonstration, storytelling, awards and reading competition.”

Mr. Lasile opined further that Certificate of Participation will be distributed to schools, All Attendees will receive Certificate of Attendance and lots of Books and souvenirs are to be distributed at the event to encourage reading culture among the new Generation.

The SixthSense Initiative according to him is geared towards promoting reading in children to increase child capacity development in accordance and to support SDG Goal No. 4 as they want to groom tomorrow’s leaders today and make our children read again.

Other guests expected to grace the event includes; Mr. Olu Ola Aikulola, Dr. Mrs. Tomori, Representative of United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Chief (Mrs.) Bola Obasanjo, Mr. Kuye ES SUBEB and a host of others.
