The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has invalidated the certificates of 101 graduates from the University of Calabar (UNICAL) who were mobilized for national service in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

According to a statement by NYSC’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, the decision was made to uphold the integrity of the national service program and prevent unqualified individuals from participating.

An investigation revealed that the affected individuals were fraudulently mobilized, leading to the immediate cancellation of their certificates.

The NYSC emphasizes its commitment to ensuring only qualified individuals receive certificates of national service.

The organization advises the public, including Corps Employers, Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Corporate and Religious Organizations, Multi-National Companies, and Corps Producing Institutions, to verify the authenticity of certificates presented to them to prevent fraudulent activities.”
