Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has called on Corps Members to approach their postings with a positive attitude.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course, held on Tuesday at the Magaji Dan Yamusa NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Keffi, Nasarawa State, Brig.-Gen. Ahmed encouraged the new Corps Members to swiftly immerse themselves in their roles and contribute to national development in their assigned communities.

In a statement released by Caroline Embu, the acting Director of Information and Public Relations for NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Ahmed also advised the Corps Members to steer clear of activities that could jeopardize their safety, urging them to remain focused on their mission of nation building.

“Accept your postings in good faith and resist the temptation to seek reposting. Begin to make meaningful impact as you have been trained to do.

“Focus on making positive contributions in your host communities and serve as exemplary ambassadors of your families, the NYSC and the nation at large,” the DG was quoted as saying.

He added that their impactful contributions to the development of their host communities would perpetuate the continued relevance of the NYSC Scheme.

While assuring the Corps Members that his administration places high premium on their security and welfare, the NYSC director-general charged them to do their own part in safe-guarding themselves by adhering to basic security measures.
