In a riveting display of counter-crime prowess, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in tandem with the elite private security powerhouse Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSNL), orchestrated a calculated decimation of a major crude oil thieves’ fortress nestled within the picturesque coastal expanse of Ondo State.

The covert operation unfolded like a scene from a blockbuster, with the operatives of NSCDC and Tantita Security Services locking horns with the operators of the illicit crude oil camp in a fierce gun duel, culminating in the complete annihilation of the clandestine facility on a dramatic Sunday.

Captain Warredi Enisuoh, the maestro behind Operations and Technical Services at TSSNL, delivered a captivating account of the skirmish on Monday, detailing the adrenaline-pumping clash that transpired at Awoye seashore in Ilaje local government, featuring the notorious Trans Extravis Pipeline.

Commandant Idowu Asonja of Tantita, orchestrating the assault in tandem with NSCDC’s formidable forces, led the charge to storm the sprawling repository where stolen crude was peddled to local buyers. Despite the cunning escape of the perpetrators, the relentless operatives managed to seize a staggering 700 kegs brimming with crude oil, totaling a jaw-dropping twenty-one thousand liters.

In a cinematic finale, two wooden boats laden with the illicit substance were set ablaze, turning the tide against the criminal syndicate.

Enisuoh, acknowledging the successful yet strenuous mission, highlighted Asonja’s caution to the local community against succumbing to the vices of crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism. Urging support for the intensified war against economic sabotage, he emphasized the collaborative efforts of the armed forces, police, NSCDC, and TSSL in fortifying the nation’s resilience against illicit activities threatening its economic stability.

The clandestine clash stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment to protect the nation’s vital resources from the clutches of criminal enterprises.

He said, “It is indeed a successful but stressful trip. Our agents in Awoye area hinted us about the perpetration of the evil acts in that area with the thieves , according to the agents, believing that the place was impregnable.

“Our men in collaboration with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp, stormed the area on Sunday morning to destroy it totality and set everything ablaze as appeared in the photos and video attached to this content.

“Fortunately, we met 700 kegs filled with crude oil, ( about twenty-one thousands liters). All the kegs with the camp/ store were set ablaze. Also we met two wooden boats filled with the crude oil, and all were set ablaze.”

Enisuoh noted that Asonja cautioned the people of the area against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
