…bags Peace Ambassador Award
The Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa, Oba Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe was today inducted as Peace Ambassador by Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in recognition of his outstanding initiatives channeled towards ensuring peaceful co-existence amongst communities.
Owaloko while speaking at the event held at NSCDC, Osun State Command Osogbo stated that he was surprised that his efforts in peace building was being recognized by Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and assured that he would work more for the enthronement of peace not just in his immediate community but the entire state, Nigeria and world at large.
Owaloko said, “I must confess that I have totally lived my life towards ensuring peaceful coexistence, unity and tranquility.”
“I realized early in life that I am a blessing to my mankind and generation when I shared the little resources God has bestowed me with among with my brothers and downtrodden.”
“One of my life principles is to live for others and swallow the hard pills of forgiveness because as the clock ticks, so is the life we live.”
In order to ensure peace, I have rededicated my life to build motivate, ensure peace and build destinies so that the world will be a better place for all in regardless of race, skin, language, ethnicity and the likes”, he concluded.
Owaloko however used the occasion to enjoin all and sundry to embrace peace and preach same in families, villages, communities, local government areas, states and most importantly in Nigeria.
