As part of efforts to eliminate Child Labour in Nigeria, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), is holding a two-day workshop to review the NOA Five-year Strategic Plan, 2021 to 2026, to reflect the Agency’s commitment to the elimination of Child Labour in Nigeria.

The review of this policy document is to enable the NOA provide technical support to the elimination of Child Labour in Nigeria in the specific areas of advocacy and Social and Behavioural Change Communication, under the Accelerating Action for the Elimination of Child Labour in Supply Chains in Africa (ACCEL Africa) Project with support from the Dutch Government. This review became imperative following the mutual signing of a Partnership Implementation Agreement between the NOA and the ILO in November 2022.

The workshop is holding on the 17th and 18th of January, 2023 at the NOA Conference Hall, in Abuja. The NOA Director General, Dr. Garba Abari was represented on Day 1 by the Director, Public Enlightenment and Mass Mobilization, Mrs. Theresa Maduekwe.

The ACCEL Africa National Project Coordinator, Dr. Agatha Kolawole led the team of ILO participants at the workshop. Participants were also drawn from staff of the NOA and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment.
