The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has emerged victorious in Kano State’s local government council elections, claiming all chairmanship and councillorship seats across the 44 local government areas.
The ruling party’s success demonstrates a significant consolidation of political control within the state.
Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi, Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), announced the comprehensive win on Saturday night from the commission’s headquarters in Kano.
“Of the six political parties that took part in the election, the NNPP secured each of the 44 local government chairmanship and all 484 councillorship seats,” Professor Malumfashi stated, underscoring the party’s sweeping dominance in the exercise.
