NNPC Hikes Fuel Price to N855 per Litre, Stations Sell for N877, N897

Filling stations owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) have increased the fuel price to over N850 per litre, following a directive from the NNPC management to raise the official price from N568 to N855.

Checks in Ilorin, Kwara State, revealed that NNPC stations are selling fuel at N877 per litre, while a viral video showed NNPC stations in Lagos selling at N855 per litre. In some northern states, NNPC filling stations are selling fuel at N897 per litre.

Privately owned filling stations have stopped selling fuel, indicating plans to increase their prices. In Gombe, NNPC mega stations are selling fuel at N930 per litre, with most filling stations in the area closed.

This development comes as the Dangote Refinery unveiled its first sample of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) produced by its refinery in Lagos, conducting a successful test run of the product at its 650,000 barrels per day facility.
