Nigerians to Celebrate 64th Independence Day with Public Holiday on October 1

The Federal Government has officially declared Tuesday, October 1, as a public holiday in celebration of the nation’s 64th Independence Anniversary.

This announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, in a statement released on Saturday.

The declaration was issued on behalf of the Federal Government by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended congratulations to Nigerians both at home and abroad on this significant occasion. He commended the patience and dedication of the Nigerian people, emphasizing that their sacrifices will not go unnoticed.

“Aligning himself with the theme for the Anniversary, the Minister reiterated the need for Nigerians to reflect on the labor of our heroes past and be inspired for the tasks ahead, realizing that a Nigeria of our dream can only be built when we unite,” the statement read.

In conclusion, Dr. Tunji-Ojo wished all Nigerians a happy Independence Day Anniversary and encouraged citizens to remain steadfast in their efforts toward nation-building.
