Ubani Zion, popularly known as ZFancy, a Nigerian social media influencer and prankster, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force National Centre for Cyber Crimes in Abuja.

According to a top source, ZFancy was taken into custody around 11 am on Wednesday in connection with one of his pranks, which allegedly sparked outrage and accusations of ritualism on social media.

“This Zfancy matter is looking very real. The Nigeria Police should intervene at this point,” said entertainer Dami Adenuga, who shared a video of a lady accusing ZFancy of involvement in ritualism.

The police responded promptly, saying, “Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take allegations of this nature very seriously. Kindly advise your friend to immediately report at a police station nearest to her. You can also contact us immediately on our emergency lines to provide more details so we can initiate a thorough investigation. Your cooperation is essential to ensure a swift and accurate response. Thank you.”

Force Spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the arrest, stating, “Yes. It’s in relation to a case of a wrong prank.”

The development has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users condemning ZFancy’s pranks as insensitive and harmful, while others see the arrest as an infringement on his creative freedom.
