Lagos, Nigeria – August 30, 2024 – The Nigerian music industry will bid a final farewell to the legendary singer, Onyeka Onwenu, popularly known as the Elegant Stallion, as she is laid to rest today in Lagos.
Onwenu passed away on July 30, 2024, at Reddington Hospital, Ikeja, after collapsing at an event honoring Dr. Stella Okoli, the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
According to the burial arrangements announced by the family, a funeral service will be held at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, followed by a private burial at a vault in Ikoyi.
A Service of Songs is scheduled for 10 am – 12 noon, while the burial will take place from 2 pm – 4 pm.
Onyeka Onwenu is survived by her two sons. Her legacy in the Nigerian music industry will be deeply missed.
