The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institution, University of Lagos branch had called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to aid the implementation of minimum wage and the payment of all the outstanding arrears since April 2019.

This was contained in a press release signed by Comrade Aderibigbe A J, Secretary of NASU – UNILAG and obtained by our correspondent today Thursday 13th February, 2020.

The release read in parts, ‘The NASU Chairman, UNILAG, Comrade Kehinde Ajibade said Federal Universities employees were compelled to register on the IPPIS platform in November, 2019 with the intention of paying the arrears of minimum wage and implementation of same on the workers monthly pay slip.”

“We are aware that the Federal Government is planning to pay February 2020 salary with the old rate which is not acceptable to Nigeria University Workers’”

He however urged the Federal Government of Nigeria as a matter of urgency pay all arrears of minimum wage without any form of delay either through GIFMIS or IPPIS.
