In a significant stride towards combating cybercrime in Nigeria, the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC) has achieved a major breakthrough by apprehending Muhammed Zenabdin for his involvement in criminal conspiracy and possession of suspected counterfeit currency totaling one hundred thousand United States Dollars ($100,000.00).
Acting on credible intelligence, NPF-NCCC operatives conducted a raid on a suspected cybercrime hideout situated in Garki II, FCT, leading to the arrest of Muhammed Zenabdin while other members of the criminal syndicate managed to flee.
A subsequent search of the premises, authorized by a search warrant, unearthed compelling evidence, including one hundred thousand United States Dollars in one-hundred-dollar bills believed to be counterfeit, alongside sophisticated counterfeit detection equipment, international passports, mobile phones, and a luxury vehicle.
According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, Muhammed Zenabdin has provided confessional statements and valuable information aiding in the identification and apprehension of other members of the criminal network. Upon the conclusion of the investigation, Zenabdin and any accomplices will face prosecution in court.
