Yenagoa, Bayelsa State – August 30, 2024 – The Nigeria Police Force Zone 16 has arrested a fake medical practitioner, Doubara Esamasuode, who was operating an unlicensed medical facility in Yenagoa.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn, Esamasuode was apprehended at St. Maximilian Medical Centre in the Etegwe area following a tip-off from the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Paul Omata.
The police recovered various medical equipment, forged documents, and 200 copies of an ultrasound report during a search of the facility. Esamasuode confessed to practicing medicine without a license, operating an illegal medical facility, forgery, and impersonation.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police emphasized the commitment to safeguarding citizens and maintaining order, noting that this arrest demonstrates the ongoing efforts to tackle criminal activities and reinforce security.
The police are continuing their investigation, and Esamasuode will face charges in court. The public is urged to assist law enforcement by providing timely information to help combat crime.
