The Blossom Girls Outreach Foundation (BGOF) has awarded grants totaling N2 million, with N1 million each given to two rehabilitated former sex workers to support their new business ventures. These women completed a six-month rehabilitation program, where they were trained in various trades before graduating.

Mrs. Titilola Adeleke, wife of Osun State Governor, praised the women’s decision to leave prostitution, calling it a remarkable achievement. She emphasized the need for progressive approaches to support women and girls affected by gender-based violence and other social issues.

In her address at the cheque presentation held at the Local Government Service Commission in Abere, Osogbo, Mrs. Adeleke recognized the efforts of Blossom Girls Outreach Foundation, led by Mrs. Doreen Omosele and Mr. Aaron Omosele, for their role in societal rehabilitation and creating a cleaner environment.

Mrs. Doreen Omosele, Executive Director of BGOF, urged parents to practice loving and attentive parenting. She noted that many women enter sex work due to inadequate upbringing and traumatic experiences, highlighting the importance of proper parenting.

Kamil Aransi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Needs, lauded the resilience of the rehabilitated individuals. He acknowledged their struggle and success in overcoming their past challenges through the Blossom rehabilitation program.

One of the beneficiaries, Bolu, revealed she was coerced into prostitution in Dubai by her estranged father, describing her exit from the trade as a miracle.
