Ogun State House of Assembly says the law on Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency, recently passed by it and signed into law by Governor Dapo Abiodun will help put in place an agency that will serve as a one stop shop for harmonising all the operations of relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government saddled with business investment operations and regulations to promote ease of doing business in the State.

A member of representing Abeokuta South 1 State Constituency, who is also the Chairman, House of Assembly Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon. Yusuf Adejojo, who stated this during an interview in Abeokuta, noted that the enactment of the all-inclusive bill would create a seamless business investment operations for all prospective local and foreign investors with business opportunities in the State. 

He added that the bill was initiated as parts of government’s efforts  at achieving the industrialisation policy of the current administration in the State.

Commenting on the importance of good road networks on the socio-economic development of the State, the lawmaker reiterated that no road would be abandoned,  assuring that roads in all parts of the State would receive attention immediately the rain subsides.

According to him, all roads within the State would receive government’s attention interms of reconstruction and or rehabilitation where necessary, adding that the State Public Works Agency was being empowered through the amendment of the OGROMA  bill to allow for expansion of the agency’s scope of operations to allow  for rehabilitation and maintenance of more public infrastructure  in the State.

He clarified that the State House of Assembly Fund Management Law, 2019 was targetted at promoting accountability, transperancy and efficiency in the management of fund by the State Legislative arm, having allowed the assessment and audit of the Assembly’s financial records by Offices of the Accountant General and Auditor General amongst others.    

He lauded the present administration for ensuring continuity       in project execution and promotion of all-inclusive government, which had helped in positioning the State as an industrial hub of the nation.
