Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has announced new postings for three Commissioners of Police as part of a broader strategic realignment within the Nigeria Police Force.
This follows the earlier deployment of four Commissioners to Abia, Lagos, Ebonyi, and Akwa-Ibom State Commands, with approval from the Police Service Commission (PSC).
Egbetokun, communicated through Force spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi, emphasized the need for diligence and innovation in addressing security challenges.
“The redeployment is aimed at strategically positioning a Police Force that is more efficient in effective policing,” Egbetokun said.
The new postings are as follows: Olatunji Disu, formerly CP of Rivers State, has been reassigned to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT); Abaniwonda Olufemi, previously CP of Delta State, will now oversee Rivers State; and Peter Opara, formerly CP of FCT, will lead the Delta State Command.
Additionally, the IGP has deployed four new Commissioners of Police to various states, including: CP Danladi Nda to Abia State Command, CP Olanrewaju Ishola Olawale to Lagos State Command, CP Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya to Ebonyi State Command and CP Festus Eribo to Akwa-Ibom State Command
“The posting of these strategic managers reflects the mission of the Inspector-General of Police to reposition the Police Force and maximize human resources available,” Adejobi explained.
He also encouraged the new CPs to embrace police reform plans to aid the progress of the Nigeria Police Force and national growth.
